Hostage crisis: Has the Bihar government been callous in dealing with the situation?

Hostage crisis: Has the Bihar government been callous in dealing with the situation?

TimePosted by IBNLive at 05:40 PM, Sep 03, 2010 in IBNPolitics

Bihar is the latest state reeling under the Naxal menace. On Friday, one of the four abducted policemen, Lokus Tete, was found murdered. Social activist and Naxal sympathiser Swami Agnivesh has blamed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the death of Tete. He termed the Nitish Kumar government as being callous having lost precious time in dealing with the situation. Do you think the Bihar government has been 'callous' in dealing with the situation?

FIRST & FOREMOST I WAS SURPRISED TO NOT ABLE TO GET ANY FEEDBACK TAB ANYWHERE ON YOUR SITE. ALL THE TABS WANT ME TO EITHER SHARE, APPROVE, APPLAUD YOUR VIEWS & TALKS & NEWS. THERE IS NO TAB TO REJECT, DISAPPROVE THEM. IF THEY ARE AVAILABLE I WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND AT ONCE OR AS EASILY AS ONE SHOULD. PL. LET ME KNOW THE TAB WHEREIN I CAN IMMEDIATELY GIVE MY FEEDBACK(IF YOU SO DESIRE THE NEGATIVE ALSO)

REGARDING THE BIHAR ABDUCTION I FEEL THAT ONCE AGAIN MEDIA INCLUDING YOUR CHANNEL,HAS WEAKENED THE STATE BY SHOWING(TO INCREASE TRPs & TO BE FIRST AMONG EQUALS) CRYING GIRLS & WOMANS THROUGH OUT THE DAY. IT'S SAME WHAT WE SAW WHILE 26/11 MUMBAI ATTACK. IT SEEMS INDIAN MEDIA HAVE NOT MATURED YET.(HOWEVER BIG PEP TALK RAJDEEP MAY GIVE ON SCREEN) EXCEPT FOR SHOUTING AND SNUBBING THE DISSENT OPINION AGAIN & AGAIN.

I HAD NOT EXPECTED YOU, AT LEAST, TO SHOW SCENES WHICH MAKES OUR STATE WEAK & VULNERABLE TO BLACKMAILS. LET THE GOVT DO WHAT IT'S DOING FOR A WHILE AND YOU DO WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING.

It seems criticism is easiest of all trades. Waking after the event in safe places of their home or office and criticizing on what happened is not a solution of problem. Why no one came foreword to offer a solution? Nor pointing fingers at others is a solution. Now that some sort of face saving settlement has reached. Why not take the advantage? Why not get our police forces trained in guerrilla warfare and then launch the whatever offensive. Why not outsource training to offshore agencies? Why no one has ever come foreword with standard procedure to be followed in the events of such crisis?
Every government follows a declared policies for "No Negotiations With Terrorists". It dose not mean that No negotiations should be done to save the lives of innocent citizens of Govt servants. Every government prepares itself with such eventuality by training highly specialized team of negotiators with experience and expertize just to handle such situation where civil administration is often ineffective. It simply a part of disaster management process. Without such exercise lives of common man will be always at risk at inept administration.

No, it was strategy to take time that they can be traced, if Govt. would have bowed it would became trend. So it was good decision not to free the Naxals. The family of cops would have prepared for this kind of situation after all they are force of country. If our army men sacrifice their lives than why not cops. A sincere Govt. always takes same decision.

murder of Tete is really a bigloss for his family and cops.we should not politicize the situation now.however in the situation like this we should appreciate the effort done by bihar government.Naxal problem is not only the problem of bihar but problem for so many states in india.few months back we have seen the situation in chattisgarh. So inspite of blaming after any incidence we should find solution politically as well as on social ground to deal with chronic problem.swami agniwesh remarks may appear correct now but we should know this fact also that criticizing any one is so easy rather than facing the situation.we can hope that a capable person like NITISH KUMAR will definately come up with this incidence and once again concentrate on overall development of bihar.

root cause is the congress goons tying up with mutinationals in dividing the tribal land for mining purposes.the land acquistion act is meant for acquiring land for genuine public purpose that is where a majotiy of people are benfitted and definitely not a few.the congress wants, like the british, to divide the people and continue its hold to benefit a few and increase its holding in swiss banks.actually we should have a pm like nitish and not the dummy handmaiden of the foreigner

Unfortunately the media is giving full support to the Congress party in the attempt to put all the blame to a non-UPA government. This is clearly a national issue. Congress, as usual, is keeping quite since the state government in question is a non-UPA / non-Congress government. It is just 'enjoying' the situation. If, the Bihar Government was a UPA supporter, the central Government's response would have been completely different and opposite. This is totally unexceptable. Media should highlight this irresponsible behavior of the the Congress Government. The Bihar Government on its part is doing it's best within it's limit to control the situation.

there is no use in blaming Nitish and his govt ... has the central govt done anything for this ??? since last few years we have seen the worst naxal attacks repeatedly happening .. why is this not decreasing ??? the system itself has failed.. first blame the central govt and then come to the states.. Chidambaram i guess is busy with fixing CBI on other cases...

My frendz -u didnt see what andhra govt did in past to phase out RED CORRIDOR area without any help from center or CRPF.

kudos to Nitish government for handling this situation in a resolute manner. Chidambaram is as always busy in blaming others for the situation.Nitish walked very tight rope in this critical election year.it is time for all of us to introspect.
