I can't believe that she is already 77, her voice and appearance don't say so.I think she is a wonderful singer with very good talent and skill. She can sing any kind of song whether it may be classical, folk etc. I love her almost all songs but to pick one it should be "Jarrasa jhoom lo me" from DDLJ because the way she sang this song is brilliant and astonishing, feels like to listen to this song again and again.

I wish all many happy returns of the day and celebrate many more birthdays in the future.

Happy Birthday dear Asha and many thanks for the gorgeous music! This is a tough call...but what an enchanting meander down memory lane! There's just sheer seduction in every honeyed note she sings! For me personally, it's just got to be Parde Mein Rehne Do, from Shikar(1968).

Yesterday night at I B N at 10.30 PM a special prigramme was aired on Ashas tai.IT WAS VERY VERY DISSAPOINTING and very FRUSTRATING to see the selection of song sthat the two ladies anchored, chose and presented to the viewers, all the songs sung by Asdha Tai

Except a song-AA EE YEH MEHAEBAAN, BAITHIYEN O JANEJAAN from Howrah Bridge, the others were all not upto the marks

When you dedicate some of the sonf to the nation sung by these LEGENDS and KOHINOOR of the singing world, you should always choose those songs which are MILESTONES and except for the song of Howrah Bridge, none of them wewrre

For example, the song from YAADON KI BAARAT-CHURA LIYA >>>>

The ACTUAL song that created a stir from YAADON KI BARAAT when it was released in 1974 was-

AAPKAY KAMRAY MEI KOI RAHTA HAI sung by Asha Tai and Kishoreda

This song had completely OUTCLASSES and NEUTRALISED the song -HUM TUM EK KAMRE MEIN BUND HOH AUR CHABEE KHO JAYE

Now comes a LOVE sone by Asha Tai.There is a song sung by Asha Tai, picturised of Jaya Bhaduri and Sanjeev Kumar.The song is-

Just listen the modulation of the voice that Asha Tai has done to make this song a magic as well the change of the frequency of the sound that she created in this song.That is a marvellous piece that should have been aired

Again when it comes to duet, the song from Khel Khel Mein featuring Rishi kapoor and Neetu Singh-:

AAYA LOH PYAR KAY DIN AAYE,MIL JAYE O DO DIL SAAYE,WOH BHI IS TARAH, MIL JAAYE HUM KISI TARAH, LAHRON SAY LAHREIEN,JAWA HOH KUR, AA JAA RAY, AA JAA RAY....this was again a master piece of a duet that was sung by Kishoreda and Asha Tai.WHY WAS IT NOT AIRED.This was the MASTERPIOECE of all the EVERGREEN and FANTASTIC song that film could have had????....

Again, the song from kala Paani-:

ACCHA JI MAI HAARI, CHALO MAAN JAO NAA
DEKHA SUBKI YAARI, MERA DIL JALAO NAA.....this one picturised on Dev Anand and Madhubala was a song, which the meaning could not be understood properrly by the foreigners, was a SONG that was SUNG by all the Americans and the Europeans during thoise days, during the Valentine days at most of the places at Europe and America, has created a world wide stir. Why that was NOT airted

To be frank, the two ladies were put in tyheir MOUTH some of the songs that some liked them and without knowing the entire facts of the songs which had revolutionised the world of Hindi music, sung by Asha Tai, the anchors produced a programme which was not upto the mark, the whole exercise became futile.....

I MAY REQUEST I B N- PLESAE HAVE A RESEARCH WING IN YOUR COMPANY. PAY THEM A HANDSOME SALARY AND ASK THEM TO DO A LOT OF RESEARCH AND ANALYZING JOB ON SOME OF THE IMPORTANT MATTER THAT ENCIRCLES AND ENCOMPASSES THE WORLD AND THEN AIR THE PROGRAMMES THAT WOULD ADD FEATHER TO YOUR CAP, RATHER THAN SIMPLY BRINGING IN SOME TIMBAKTOOS AND WASTING THE TIME ON THEM

After all- ASHA TAI, LATADI, KISHOREDA, and RAFI SAHEB, including, MANNADA, MUKESH BHAI, TALAT MEHMOOD, GEETA DUTT(ROY), MAHENDRA KAPOOR....THESE ARE THE 9 PRICELESS DIAMONDS ON THE CROWN THAT WEARS TO RULE THE WORLD OF SONGS AND INDIAN MUSIC AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE AIRED FOR TIME PASS
