Wish Asha Bhonsle

From Madhubala to Madhuri, her seductive and sultry voice has enthralled listeners over generations. Born in 1932, Asha Bhonsle followed in her elder sister Lata Mangeshkar's footsteps when she sang her first film song Chala Chala Nav Bala for the Marathi film Majha Bal in 1943. In 1948, she made her Hindi film debut with the song Saawan Aaya for a film named Chunariya. Thus began a lilting journey which has seen some great numbers. As India's sultry voice turns a year older, here's wishing her a long and happy musical innings.

ASHA, USHA and LATA are legends. In fact, if needed to find out the name of singer of any song which is in female's voice, I always tend to guess one of these legendary figures.

Wonderful is their ability to sing a song of any language be it Marathi--their mother tongue or Hindi or Bhojpuri or any other language and you will have the joy of that language.
