Gilchrist slams Tendulkar, calls him a 'bad sport'. Do you agree? | Read Story

Adam Gilchrist has blamed Sachin Tendulkar of not being gracious in defeat. Gilchrist says that Tendulkar shirks from a handshake if he ends on the losing side. He also criticises Tendulkar's role in the 'monkeygate' scandal involving Harbhajan Singh and Andrew Symonds.

Not shaking hands with members of a team that has won a test match in the manner in which the Aussies won the Sydney Test is the most respectable way of protesting...... Unfortunately, the Aussies seem to be inflicted with a disease - that of an irrestible urge to play moral police in cricket. They seem to assume this moral high-ground and then pass judgements on others. An Australian talking of sportsmanship is like Bill Clinton talking of celibacy.

Gilchrist and Tendulkar are the great cricketers. We respect both of them. We hardly know what goes on in the dressing room. Everyone has a right to have their own opinions and we should respect peoples opinion. Why make such negative journalism a headline?

Mr. Gillie if an Australian calls someone a "bad sport" it is the case of pot calling a kettle black. Sachin is a complete gentleman. I think gilchirst is bringing his own image down by passing comments about Tendulkar. Ozies must learn to accept defeats, time and again whenever they r defeated, they start cooking up stories. Grow up guys. It is a shame to the world of cricket. if the Oz team goes on, cricket can no more be called a gentleman's game. It becomes a monkey show.

This is just a publicity Stunt. and we don't need any endorsement from a Ozz in Sachin's sportsmanship. The whole world knows about the Kangaroos. Its the best thing happening that BCCI is dominating the Cricket -- economically !

Hello there to all folks !
Things go weird, and they may be shcoking, I am an Indian, N i equally loved Gilchrist for his attitude of 'Walking if nicked' strategy. This goes parallel to what sachin does, the batsman of his stature has been given out unfairly for various occassions. And Sachin believes in the same 'walk if nicked' strategy. Do not know WHY did Gilchrist did this, but if he did ! It's a pity, i thought there is one OZZie cricketer i can say is fare..he just disproved if he did mention all this, and Even if this happened, Tendulkar has a spotless career, he is bound to make mistakes, no body likes to lose after all, match winners simply dont ! The match which he is boasting of was made ridiculously one sided by the shitty umpring decisions, unfairly positive outcomes towards the ozzies...Even if Tendulkar didnt shook his hands on India's loss, he is far more than fare, if he did it, no questions abt his integrity and the presence in the game....Gilly boy ! u just lost a fan, like many more, n thass me buddy !

I have always admired Gilhrist for his on-field behaviour, but he seems to be a bad sport off-field. Australians think "Sydney" Test was a great victory, when all know how they won it--it will be remembered for the Australians' worst on-field behaviour.
It is now fashionable to write controversial things in a book to make it marketable. Gilchrist should behave like a retired cricketer.

As some one who specializes in Australian studies and therefore their hisotry of being "secondhand Europeans pullulating on alien shores" as A. D. Hope calls his country men it is not surprising that churlish Aussie cricketers have alwauys maligned colored cricketers. To malign Sachin Tendulkar is to besmirch cricket history. Gandhiji has been maligned, JFK has been asassinated. But you cant replqace men of character in spite of a hubdred Gillies, however wonderful cricketers they are.

Yet another cheap stunt by an Australian cricketer. This shows that they are very bad losers.HE is the same person who showered praise on sachin tendulkar in his recent visit to india.lost all the respect by his unacceptable words on sachin tendulkar.
