Gilchrist slams Tendulkar, calls him a 'bad sport'. Do you agree? | Read Story

Adam Gilchrist has blamed Sachin Tendulkar of not being gracious in defeat. Gilchrist says that Tendulkar shirks from a handshake if he ends on the losing side. He also criticises Tendulkar's role in the 'monkeygate' scandal involving Harbhajan Singh and Andrew Symonds.

why do we react so much to someone's personal view????? If Gilly has perceived Sachin that way, whats wrong in expressing that in his book????? Just because we Indians are crazy fans of Sachin that doesn't mean that everyother person should be!!! Lets grow up to respect other's views too :) We have become so narrow in our thoughts that we want them to "publicly apologise...whatever it takes"!!! Am sure our behaviors will b reflected on our country as "India-flexing its muscles once again"!!!!
Don't know whether Gilly wanted publicity or not for his book, media has done it enough for him now!!

I am a huge fan of Tendulkar, but here Gilchrist has only expressed his perception of the "monkeygate (about which there is a high probability that he is right)" in his autobiography and our irresponsible media has taken it out of proportion. Mebbe if we read the whole excerpt it would come to light how much he appreciates Sachin. This is certainly no publicity stint by Gilchrist but a ploy by the media to boost their TRPs

I had a healthy respect for Gilly as he was an immediate walker when he nicked without waiting for the umpire's dreaded finger. His earlier statements appeared to show he was a different person compared to the bad boy image of the Aussies. As pointed by many others why does he not mention about the one sided umpiring in the Sydney test and the gross cheating by the Aussies in the same test.Sachin has always remained a fair person and an excellent ambassador of our country. This outburst by Gilly is only to attract media attention and gain cheap popularity for his book.

Just look at the person who dares to question the integrity of the most repected person in world cricket. These Aussies have a habit of being in the headlines by creating one controversy or the other. They think the game is their property - All greats need to be Aussies. If a legend is not Australian, sometime or the other, they're bound to raise questions against him. If Sachin is a "bad sport", what would Gilli say about Ponting,Symonds,Clarke,Warne,McGrath,Boon and even himself? Names are countless. This is just a publicity stunt to make his autobiography a hit even before its released, else how many knew before yesterday that Gilchrist was writing an autography?

Gilly has succeeded in his mission - publicising his book. I was not aware that he was writing one

SACHIN IS always an Ambassdor for cricket.SACHIN said "he is not going to comment on Gilchirst views" which highlights SRT's decency. This kind of news is not new for OUR Master Blaster.HE IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE FOR HONESTY & DIGNITY.Gilchrist shud regret this nd make sure he is not repeating this kind of senseless attitude!(again)."SACHIN ROCKS 4EVER". Indians generally had a great respect to Gilly both as a cricketer and as a person. Everyone knows how the ppl of india felt sorry when Gilly led Deccan Chargers lost badly in IPL.
But inspite of all these, Gilly in the pursuit of publicity for his book, has blamed one of the greatest cricketers ever and lost all the respect that he has gained in his entire career.
And he has chosen the right time to raise this controversy so that he can deviate the attention of sachin & co. in the rest of border-gavaskar trophy.

But bad luck gilly, Sachin has seen a lot like these in his 19 year long career and he knows how to handle it. Infact he excels in his game especially in these kind of situations. He always allows his weapon (bat) to talk rather than his mouth.

So beware aussies....

Aussies are cowardish and bad losers, sledging was introduced to cricket world by none other than the aussies, when they ger their taste of their own medicine, it turns to be sour, on this account glichrist has lost many a fan in India for his criticism of our little master, Sachin an epitome of proffessionalism who stood firm even during the match fixing scandal, who always leads the Indian crusade is innocent and the whole world knows it, Sachin was diplomatic and this is expected from a senior cricketer and a cold shoulder to harbhajan from the seniors would have shattered the confidence, i would have appreciated gilchrist, if he had the guts to reveal this before earning his big bucks in IPL. This is a farce statement and an untimely release which would widen the animosity between the World champs "Aussies" and World beaters "India". Celebrate the Indian victory and ignore the aussie whine.

Aussies are just trying to cover up them selves from the latest Mohali defeat by digging all those gone issues(MonkeyGate). We Indians Know very well about the Sachin's integrity, loyalty & dignity towards the sport.

I think it's a clear cut marketing strategy by Gilchrist. The timing couldn't have been any better,as both countries are in the middle of a series with Australians having lost a game. Now that Gilchrist has retired,he knows well,he can get away with any libelous remarks against any player. We Indians & Cricket lovers around the world have known Sachin for the last 20 yrs, & shouldn't be paying any heed to such cheap remarks, iam sure Sachin wouldn't care either.
