In such situations keep your head and heart calm and maintain a positive outlook. There is always light at the end of a tunnel. One does not need a spiritual (?) leader to advise on how to live!! Think it is only losers who need so called spiritual leaders to lean on!! You dont think of the Almighty only in a crisis you think of him and thank him for each day that you live. All the spiritual leaders are commercially driven and will probably laugh all the way to the bank even in a recession!!!

Jai Gurudev,
Definitely it helps if your practise your Sadhana regularly as it gets you to the "present moment" rather than being in the past or future. In the present moment there is no worries and anxities. You just need to give your 100% to every action you do and the results will fall in place. Just remember that we have come through many such situations in the past and we are still alive and happy.

Cheers
Valsan

Now the socalled problem is universal and is not exclusive to us. Time and again for all those who have followed up the
Guruji and his simple advise,by now, we would have learnt
to live life on NEED BASED AND NOT DESIRE BASED.Unfortunately
we always lose the track and find it difficult to cop-up in a
given situation like this.Dificult times come and go,but,
strong person with will can be succesful.

Dear Guruji,

Economic slowdowns & recessions are unavoidable as they happen in cyclical patterns. But these could have been handled better by a balanced approach. Also people are taking their valuable lives for financial losses. Aren't lives worth much more than a financial loss? Is it lack of spirituality and hence absence of a balanced mind which leads to such decisions? Am blessed to be in AOL that I can handle my emotions better. Thanks Guruji. Jai Guru Dev.

Pranam Guruji,

In kaliyuga it seems that everything is possible for the human beings. How can Indians face recession and economic slowdown?
Can we think that "even this will pass".

Dear Guruji,
I am a member of your family for many years now! So,I do not have any such fears of the difficult times ahead.I feel it is just a cyclical event.Like Newtons third law,Every action has got an equal and opposite reaction. In the same tenor it can be said, whatever goes up must come down. So,Sensex zoomed and was breaking the 22000 barriers when everyone was on cloud nine. Then the bubble burst & Lehman Brothers & Morgan Stanley collapsed.Since October billions of dollars worth paper wealth has melted down with many bleeding hearts. But,in reality it has affected the common man more than the rich! Labourers, small time farmers and businessmen, daily wage earners are the worst hit!To get a square meal a day is too distant a dream for many! How could this problem be solved Guruji? How long will this recession last? Do we see light at the end of tunnel not only us,but everyone in the world? Please enlighten us.Jai Joy GURUDEV.
Yours loving devotee,
B.N.R.Rao,Mangalore. 20.11.2008.

I have a view point instead of a question, and I would like to get Sri Sri's comments on this view.

Fear in such difficult times is natural amongst most of us who have not conquered basic fear through spirituality. What is occuring in todays times is due to 'Causal' effects created by the people in this world in the past. When such times occur, it is generally occampanied by an agenda to fix/normalize/rationalize/equate certain disparities and irregularities that has been created in the past period. I believe, the agenda nature has is to make many of us realize that happiness, prosperity and jobs do not come as default or through deliberate s'short cuts', to us as people thought it would. There is surely a lesson, now, for them to start learning and to believe in hard work, honesty, loyalty to employer, appropriate distribution of wealth in the society, sensitivity towards family & others, living a simpler life driven by basics & essentials etc..
In all the phenomenon that is occuring, I see a hope for society in general towards living more meaningful and productive lives. Spirituality will surely gain momentum in this "difficult" and "Stressful" times as you describe it.

My Philosophy of Life

1.Never challenge any one nor accept challenge from any one.

2.Never threaten any one nor be threatened by any one.

3.It is easy to face a problem created by other humans than to think how to create problem for others.

4.So, nothing will come free of cost including trouble.

5.Hence, he/she is also responsible for his/her destiny.

6.Therefore, the less one desires the more he/she is happy.

In spirituality truth is the greatest thing and somehow I see it missing in Guru%u2019s like Sri Sri for I its evident that%u2019s his teaching are not original as he claims to be other thing is that because of certain sectarian mixing it is not universal also as we know some years back when he claimed that Ayodhya problem is because a certain Deity worship is neglected in the vicinity of the town.
Even Buddha said everybody has to workout his own salvation but I don%u2019t know how this so called Gurudom is existing in India with so rich spiritual heritage.
A thing which is not universal can%u2019t be a true path like a flower irrespective of whatever passes by it ;It gives the same fragrance to all.

Dear Ashi_99, you say you see "it" missing in Sri Sri. How can one be so sure one is capable of seeing "it" ? Close your eyes and sit for meditation for 30 minutes and you might realise how unfamiliar "that" area is. A Guru can help and Sri Sri has helped millions see "it". Experience his presence once with the right mind set, you would not look back :)
