Pay tribute to Mumbai

Pay tribute to Mumbai's saviours.

TimePosted by IBNLive at 01:34 PM, Nov 29, 2008 | Updated at 03:08 PM, Dec 05, 2008 in India

Mumbai's darkest hour may be over for now. But the road ahead is a long one. Families have been broken, the city's landmarks have been destroyed and the trauma and anguish of coping with a bustling Mumbai reduced to complete vulnerability is inexplicable. Also shocking is the loss of lives of the saviour souls who didn't think twice before rushing to save the lives of others -- the brave NSG commandos, ATS officials and the valiant policemen who died in the line of action. The spirit lives on. Here's paying tribute to Mumbai's saviours. May their soul rest in peace.

I m deeply deeply moved & enormoously proud of our soldiers...
I salute them & humbly request them to take care of our country from up above like they always did...

I belong to India & These politicians think India belongs to them is it... What do they think of themselves... Do they think they can still go on cheatin people with their false promises & get away with it...

I take this forum as a platform to let you people know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he
doesn't want to vote anyone!

I wanna know wat these politicians will do if we all citizens chose to do this... Lets join hands & take these anger suppressed in us & show them... wat patriotism is... wat unity is... wat we are... How many of them wud ve been ready to confront those terrorists to get slained... I think tats y they never agreed to negotiations also... maybe they were scared for their own lives... but little did they knw tat our veer jawans would ve laid their lives b4 lettin anythin happen to these least gratefull people...

I request you people to respect the police people and Army people & rather than criticising them, lets help them save our country...

I hope the rage tat s flamed up now leads to something effective & good to the future of our country... I promise here that I m an Indian & I would'nt let any of these insane people(Terrorists & politicians)demolish our country...

Mr. Karkare, Mr. Salaskar, Mr Kamthe, Mr. Unnikrishnan.
Other security persons who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty

Salute to you Sirs. Rest assured your sacrifice will not go in vain.

Next time, let us put our politicians in the frontline so that they get much needed experience in combating the enemies of the country. In this, if they are martyred, then so be it. We will light as many candles as they want and very gladly garland their photos.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH -I have simple suggestions:
We as one nation, under the tri-color flag, Mahatma Gandhi must have never dreamt of India like this after the partition. Like this I mean divided by the ‘lalchi’ politicians and illiterate Sansads. We as young India need leaders like Barrak Obama â€\" full of conviction, unlike our PM. We as young/stronger (since we have more young polulation) India want leaders who really want love thy nation. We should reject this family dynasty with no performance.
Some suggestions as citizen of India:

1. It is time of ‘Civil Disobedience’ like Gandhi, Henry David Thoreau, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Politicians in India should not take freedom for granted, and all the tax money for granted, too. It is time that people of India should not pay taxes until strong actions are not taken by our so called leaders.
We know if a mango is rotten in a bunch, we throw it out. Like that if a child in a family is bad, a family in village, a village in nation, and souls in earth, we take then out to protect the earth as whole. Like that if we know terrorist camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, or bad elements in India, it is time to throw them out of the earth because it is the question of our soul, our dignity, and self-respect of India.
2. I believe politician should stand in front of their mirror and ask themselves / their spirits only one question that “Are they really worth of their post or job for their country?
3. In India, we should utilize our vote bank carefully, and ask question that the person is worth giving vote or not. At the same time, we should protest for wrong candidate, and choose among our self. I like the advertisement on television of ‘Jagore’ when a youngster asks questions to the candidate of the politician’s education, his assignments, his duties, and his capabilities.
4. We should tighten our boundaries. It does not mean that every 10 km one coast guard, but should have strict check on their weekly routine work. I heard and saw that west coast do not have proper coast guards, working ship, or any check posts. These working staff on the coast station’s duties was caught in civil dresses. (Live video by IBN/CNN on TV.)
5. We need a special federal agency to handle terror like situations, within India or from outside of India. This agency should be independent of any political pressure.

-Thank you,
Purvi Mehta, Pune, India. I belong to India not by the boundaries of states or religion.

Its high time to show the enemies of india that we will not take this lying low. But we will rise to the occasion whenever it is needed. Its high time to make our politicians accountable who are only seen in public either in parties or begging for votes before elections. Never in our life we have felt so helpless that a handful of coward murderers are holding india to ransom and we cannot do anything but to remain mute spectators. Our heart goes out for people who were killed by these cowards. We fail to understand that inspite of knowing the source of terrorism since so many years, what is it that is preventing our politicians to take any action. We salute our Commandos, Army and police force and all the people who laid down their lives so that we can sleep safely in our homes. Its high time to break out of this mode of inaction and do something that will make the people who have died and who are watching from the heaven proud that their sacrifice has not gone wasted. Jai Hind....

I Salute those who lost their lives and also to those who risked their lives in dealing with this heinous act of Terrorists. NSG commandos lost their lives... ATS officials did... Police did... Civilians did....

Its time for these groups to come together... Forget Politicians... Form a Force.... Form a Reason for Indians to live without fears.... We can only pay our homages to these Heroes by dealing with this situation without forgetting a single sacrifice...

Lets hope for a safer and better India... These heroes have given us the reason to bring a revolt and we shall pursue the cause with same spirits....

May God Bless their souls...

Thank You Heroes... Thank You For All

It is not only shocking but shameful. The leaders of the country have let down the country and their countrymen. It is frightening to note that situation has slipped from their hands and they should concede this. All like minded souls should now call for General Council's meet of the UNO and if possible the Security Council's meet too to find the final solution to this dastardly, heinous and brazen terrorist menace. Only and only when we all would do this then there would be true homage to the valiant soldiers who have laid down their life so that we would live in peace. Salute to them million times and to their family!
Dr. Arun Sharma

The need of the hour and for future is ACTION. Words are no more assuring. We the people of India are united against terrorismand will always be, but we the common man cannot take much action against terrorism, except for being alert and cooperate with system. But what if the system is so impotent? How and with whom shall we cooperate? Today it feels like we are orphan childs in our own motherland.
We the people want our children to breathe the "true and fresh" air of freedom without fear in our hearts. IT IS OUR MOTHERLAND and we ought to live here with dignity and NOT with fear. The anger and rage on the streets taken up by the common man is very natural and should be a waking call for the system to rise beyind cheap politics and do good for the country.

The soldiers who fought for us over the past few days and put their lives on the line for our safety, were from all parts of India. They were Indians. I sincerely hope our politicians realise that. We must stop the politics of divide and unite the nation.
