Has the UPA ignored the agriculture sector?

Has the UPA ignored the agriculture sector?

Has the UPA failed to fulfill the wishes of the agrarian sector? How would you rate the UPA's achievements in the agriculture sector during the past five years?

I regret to state that since independence, none of the Governments had not supported this sector. How can we expect the multi party UPA to do anything to the agriculture.

The time has come, to think,to act decisively encouraging agriculture. In a span of another 10 years, the essential products will regain its importance. A

The agriculture growth numbers and suicides by farmers speaks volumes how much the govt has ignored the agriculture sector. Agricultural land should not be converted into SEZs for industires. If this trend continues, a day not very far that we may have to import pulses and other food grains also.

Dear Sir
Truely and majestically, the UPA had a wonderful moment which could have changed the fortunes of the farmers in India, but they left it and allowed it go abbegging.
This was the time for them to create the terminal market, in the villages and the shandies, to enable to growers to come to the market place to sell their produce.

Also they could have created access for the farmers to come to the secondary market to get a better price for thier produce. The chances to connect the villages where the farming is done to the secondary market could have been taken in a great manner. That went abbegging.

Thus the golden oppurtunity that the UPA had to bring in a revolution in the rutral marketing and rural farming has been lost by them.

This would plague the progress of the growers and the farmers, and the UPA cannot be pardoned and excused for the same.

Merely waiving a loan tuning to Rs 700crores is not the solution. The solution lies in creating a market for the produce and in return get a better dividend out of the same.

The village electrification programme and the marketing of the produce by the farmers are the need of the nation.A nation just cannot stand on its feet if the vilalges and the farmers are committing suicide everyday.
Thanks

The majority of people in this country are engaged in agricultural activities.Top priority should have been given to agriculture and the problems of poor farmers but this is not so.
It is business, industries and IT sectors getting more prominence than agriculture.

Its not just the UPA government , almost all governments have failed to concentrate on agriculture sector.

PRECAUTION IS BETTER THAN THE CURE.

Somebody should explain this concept to our ministers.

Its better to give a long term relief by helping the farmers rather than just giving a big package to them after they faced losses.

All of us know that how many thousand of rupees will reach to the farmers as the government gives a large financial help.Everybody in between will share their portion till it reaches to real problem facer.

Just because our government doesn't plan anything for agriculture sector, so at the end of the year we are buying wheat and other products from other countries and again wasting them as it remain unused.

Not sure how far India will be able to maintain its status of having good agricultural background.

Shailendra

UPA has done VERY LITTLE FOR FARMERS and sucides were committed instead of RESOLVING THE PROBLEM they use for their political purpose.
Agriculture is the BACKBONE OF INDIAN ECONOMY which can not be IGNORED.
There is a saying if "Somebody is Hungry Don't give him Fish but TEACH HIM HOW TO FISH THEN HE MAY NEED ANY ASSISTANCE IN FUTURE" - Have UPA improved Irrigation,Modern Methods of Cultivation,Provide Marketing Support for their produce ????

If a jobless man is hungry what should one do???
a.give him a meal or
b.See that he gets a job so that he never face the same situation again.
here in above case (b) is the best option but UPA has opted for (a) just to garner few votes with a worthless meal since it never reaches the needy.

Dear Sir
They have totally neglected the agriculture sector and just waiving off a lioan to the tune of Rs 700 crores does not means that they have boosted the agricculture.
The situation of the farmers are piquant and this is a alarming scenario altogether.
Thanks
