The ARTIST OF THE MILLENNIUM award given to Michael Jackson answers this question. There's no one until today who can compare with him, and I don't think some one who's living today will easily get to his place. So there's no place for debate on this. Michael redefined POP. If you want to put names to debate with MJ, compare records like, the number of grammy awards, the number of albums sold, the number of guinness book records etc... the person on debate has with what Michael has.

MJ IS ONE OF THE GREATEST ENTERTAINERS OF THE WORLD. He has given new height to the Music and of course he evolved Music from Audi to Video without any doubt. He made Music visualize. I am not a very great listener of English Music as I think it’s just a stupid idea to read or mug up the lyric and then enjoy but yes beats energizes me as well. His achievement speaks volume: 750 Millions records have been sold and his song Thriller is all Time Top seller 26 Million Copy. The problem with famous and successful celebrity is that they miserably fail to manage themselves at first place. It’s pity to see this Musical Genius goes with so many scandals whether it’s true or false is always in question. He is the first black Towering Personality who is acknowledged and accepted by the whole world for sure!!! I am not putting him as the greatest ever entertainers as there are many a Genius Entertainer & Musicians which can’t be regarded as lesser than him. But yes he is ONE OF THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER along with great subcontinent Musicians such as Tansen, Pandit Ravishankar, Pandit Malikarjun Mansoor, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Ustad Bismillah Khan, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.....

There should not be an inch of doubt as to who was the greatest entertainer and its none other than MJ the greatest to be born and who can forget the kind of ecstasy ,he used to bring in the concerts and the world just learnt that people just faint looking at celebrities afdter looking at MJs videos.Lets not have a debate and degrade this personality.NOBODY can inch closer to MJ,Past, present or future. The greatest Entertainer who ruled the world of music should be the title conferred on him.

There isn't a sense of doubt regarding the man's supreme talent and his contribution to the field of pop. No one can imagine the number of people who have lost their consciousness being elevated to such ecstasy after drooling in his music. Personal life and controversies apart, you have to admit that the world owes its gratitude and respect to the GREATEST ENTERTAINER OF ALL TIME and has lost a crowd THRILLER who could keep the mass enthralled with his moon-walk. There will never be another Michael Jackson.

He was definitely the greatest for the past quarter century. He definitely raised the bar in pop music with his inimitable singing, dancing and music and gave joy and happiness to millions across all continents. That was his reach. Yet it was tragic that his own personal life was not happy with his broken marriages. There seemed to be some unfulfilled void in his life which many people of creative excellence experience and he went the way he did. RIP

He was indeed a great loss to POP Music, many of the people today have inspired followed him like their GURU, he was indeed very much creative, inventive and a true artist. None knows about about his private life but as in profession he was indeed well ahead of the greats of this generation.

After reading his autopsy report i felt almost like petrified of his state, seriously if he was in that state it was better that he departed before bearing more pain.,God always do evrything for good and may its good for him.

RIP.

It is a shame that a country whose Musical traditions stretches back to 5000 years or more and who has given this world greats like the indomitable and ethereal Pandit Ravishankarji, Pandit Mallikarjun Mansoorji, pandit Bhimsemn Joshiji, Kishori Amonkarji, gangubai hangalji and countless number of luminaires, have chosen to go ga ga about a mediocre song-writer,who lived controversially, and sang atrociouly though he became popular amomgst Indian wannabe Goras! All his ?musical (cacophony) output had no evidence of Riaz(Practice or Sadhana, nor any commitment) nor learning nor grammar of Music!
Prancing around the stage shouting 'I am bad, I am bad' is NOT music!

Charity? what charity? the kids he ought to have helped have their own stories to tell!
Sign of times and our deeply flawed Psyche which destroys our Musical heritage at the behest of Noise! People havent got a tear to shed for Ustad Ali Akbar Khan sahib who too passed away after protracted infirmity!
Shame on US, pretenders!

Congrats mate, u don't understand the difference between a singer, Sitar or tabla player and an overall entertainer. MJ definitely was and is the greatest entertainer off all times .. he was great in singing, dancing and electrifying performances.. and whats ur problem if he lived controversially, how is that effecting ur life ?? did u stop getting food supplys because of MJ's controversies.. this post is about "Was Michael Jackson the greatest entertainer ever?" and yes he was.. 2nd were u an accountant of MJ when he did those charities? or did u personally investigate what stories those kids had to say ?? now Ustad Ali Akbar Khan sahib was a great artist but may be he never created that impact on peoples hearts the way MJ did..so thats why u did not see people shed a tear .. if u dont like MJ its ur personal choice , good for u ... but dont ridicule MJ just because his music dint appeal to u ... ur choice dint matter to MJ anyways while he was alive ...
