The Delhi High Court on Thursday legalised consensual sex among gays on Thursday. The court struck down Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code. The court said that if not amended, Section 377 of the IPC would violate Article 21 of the Indian Constitution, which states that every citizen has equal opportunity of life and is equal before law. Discuss.

Gays are not criminals …”accepted!” but it’s hard for many to accept as it a very much unethical behavior. No offense meant! With all due respect to the community I would like to state that majority for our country finds it difficult to accept them. Many of us feel uncomfortable in such a person’s presence! Not to hurt any ones feelings but it is rule of the nature and something we have learnt to live with for decades! I would like to see the law make more provisions for the transgender community. As for the homosexuals, there is “RIGHT TO EQUALITY” and also for the rest”RIGHT TO EXPRESSION”. Don’t want to offend anyone but I have the right to express that I am certainly troubled with this verdict……..

I think, as far as the fundamental rights are concerned, this is a welcome step indeed...at least the gay community has a legal protection now..but at the same time, i am worried that, with this, homosexuality doesn't get the boost! coz, now a days, it has become a fashion too..and at the same time, i just wonder if the same amendment protects the lesbian rights too...
