Roger Federer broke former champion Pete Sampras' record of 14 grand slam titles on Sunday night.

Of course. Mr Feddie is a professional player. I saw the finals and i should say that it was a grt come back. Both Andy & Roger are my fav...But Roger is the best.He broke record of Dear Sampras which is not a joke.
Is Roger Federer the greatest tennis champion ever? This is not a correct question.
I guess it should come like. one of the greatest

Federer is without doubt the greatest player of THIS generation/era; but based on pure performance and achievements, one could argue that Rod Laver was as good as player during his playing days as Federer is now.
All said and done, its an unfair comparison, but Federer is definitely unmatched in this era.

Congrats to Roger for beating Pete's record..
I agree he is a Champion but not the greatest...I always feel Pete was better as he had to beat other greats like Andre Agassi, Goran to be crowned,,,Roger was never tested with Champion players until Nadal broke in,,,I would have been very happy had he broke Pete's record after defeating Nadal but that was not the case..

I feel Roger was destined to beat Pete's record.,.It would be intresting to see if he can win another grand slam from now,,,as lot of good playes have caught up...Andy was good....great effort but lack of patience or tiring mind that made him to loose one Game which costed him the championship..

Roger was not his best in the final but held his nerves..I am sure if it was Nadal he would have had Roger in 4 sets..and kept Roger guessing and pushing to achieve the feat..

Come soon Nadal and Andy learn to capitalize on the advantage against big players...you had Roger down twice but could not convert them...Bravo Andy for making Riger fight for his 15 which made him the best if not the greatest!

What a final by both the players, both holding nerves, calm quite , attentive and spirit of never die approach.in the last genius played his card to stretch the game long and wait for the right move for single opportunity, which he finally got in the last.
Yes ,indeed he is one of the greatest among the greatest. One should not level greatest tennis champion ever, as it is th nature of the game that achievements are bound to break, today Roger tomorrow somebody else shall take place, but in today context he is greatest.
