Former IPL chairman Lalit Modi on Friday demanded that Chennai Super Kings be terminated from the League after the arrest Gurunath Meiyappan.

It was the theatre of the absurd as murky dealings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday led to the arrest of BCCI chief N Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan. Meiyappan, who has allegedly been involved in betting on the Twenty20 tournament as claimed by arrested Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh, first went into a hiding in Kodaikanal and then rushed to Mumbai to honour the police summons. The Mumbai Police arrested Meiyappan after three hours of questioning, saying he was being evasive. Within minutes, Vindoo too was brought face-to-face with Meiyappan.

The day that started with the assumption whether Gurunath Meiyappan would present himself before the Mumbai Police, ended with his arrest.

Earlier in the day there were media reports that Srinivisan would resign as BCCI boss if Meiyappan got arrested.

Mumbai Police Joint Commissioner (crime) Himanshu Roy said that there is evidence of Gurnath Meiyappan's involvement in IPL betting.

Lalit Modi in an exclusive interview to CNN-IBN also told that current IPL commissioner Rajiv Shukla and Arun Jaitley should also take responsibility and admitted to that fact that he created a monster in IPL.
