15 hurt as bus overturns

Bareilly, Oct 7 (PTI) Six people were today killed and 16 others injured when a UP Roadways bus fell in Sharda canal here while trying to avoid hitting a truck coming from the opposite direction, police said. The bus carrying 48 passengers was coming here from Pilibhit when it hit a culvert in Kalapur village under Izzatnagar police station area and fell into the canal, they said. Sixteen people were injured in the incident and were rushed to hospital, sources said, adding six people - two women, two men and two children - were killed. The remaining passengers were, however, safe. The bus has been pulled out with the help of a crane.
