Madan Mohan said 12 villages were acquired to develop Dimna Lake, the main sources of water supply in the command area, decades back but no compensation or rehabilitation was given to 450 families, who were displaced. Besides compensation and rehabilitation, he demanded around 102 acres of land acquired for the purpose should be compensated with alternative land to affected families. The acquired villages included Barajpur, Punsa, Lailong, Saldoha, Kuntimatli and Haludbani. JMV leader said representatives of the displaced families had as many as 17 round of talks including last meeting two months ago in the presence of the representative of the district administration.
