

3 labourers feared drowned in Ganga canal
PTI | 01:02 AM,Feb 04,2012Dehra Dun, Feb 4 (PTI) Three labourers feared drowned today when an under-construction bridge over Ganga canal collapsed in Roorkee area of Haridwar district, police said. An iron bridge which was being constructed in front of the Roorkee Nagar Palika collapsed, leading to which five labourers working on it fell into the canal. Two labourers were rescued by the police, however, rest were washed away. They have been identified as Vir Singh and Jishan, residents of Roorkee area and Shamim, a resident of Najibabad area of Uttar Pradesh.
