AMU VC hands over charge to senior-most Dean

Aligarh, Jan 17 (PTI) Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor P K Abdul Azis today handed over the charge to Prof S Mahdi Abbas Rizvi, the senior-most dean among members of the Executive Council. The tenure of Azis, facing allegations of financial impropriety, ended today. The AMU Students' Union had said it would oppose any attempt to give a ceremonial farewell to the VC in the wake of allegations against him. The Executive Council is expected to meet soon to decide a panel of five names from which the next VC will be selected.
