Azharuddin''s younger son seriously hurt in bike accident

Hyderabad, Sept 11 (PTI) Ayazuddin, the youngest son of Moradabad MP and former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, was today seriously injured while his cousin died after the bike they were travelling skidded off the road on city outskirts.The 1600 cc sports-bike was driven by nineteen-year-old Ayazuddin. His cousin Ajmal-ur-Rahman (16), who was riding pillion, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the Apollo hospital, they said. A medical bulletin issued by the hospital at 8 pm said, Ayazuddin responded to initial resuscitation measures and was taken up for emergency surgery to stop the bleeding in his chest.Ayazuddin has also sustained injuries in his kidneys. His condition is critical, the hospital said adding he is on ventilator and his BP is being supported with high dose medication. He has also received multiple blood transfusions.The incident occurred between 9 am and 9.15 AM when the duo were riding on the bike from Shamshabad area to Gachibowli leading to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, a senior police officer told PTI. The road is prohibited for two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws."It seems they were testing the new bike which was apparently driven at a high-speed," he said. The mishap occurred when the brakes were applied near a toll gate structure under Narsingi Police station limits. Ayazuddin lost control and the skidded off the road and both of them hit the ground, he said. The duo was shifted to Apollo hospital in Jubillee Hills area in an unconscious state around 9.30 AM with the help of locals and police. A cab-driver who witnessed the high-speed accident informed the police on the incident. Ayazuddin, is the younger son of Azharuddin and also plays local league cricket. He is son of Nourin, first wife of Azharuddin divorced her and married actress Sangeeta Bijlani.Azharuddin and Nourin's elder son Asaduddin also plays cricket in the local league.
