Bessy Kadavil chosen for Pravasi literary award

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 26 (PTI) Malayalam writer Bessy Kadavil has been chosen for the literary award of the city-based Pravsa Malayala Sahityavedi. Bessy, working in the Faculty of Medicine at Kuwait University, was chosen for the award for her collection of pomes "Karutha Kanikonna", the Vedi said in a release today. The award carries Rs 11,111, citation and memento. She was selected for the award by a judging committee comprising Prof G N Panikkar, V K Narayanan and Sugunan Njekkad. The award will be presented at a function here on September 1.
