

Bhartendu Sharma elected GBA president
PTI | 08:01 PM,Jan 25,2012Ghaziabad, Jan 25 (PTI) Bhartendu Sharma and Giri Raj Singh have been elected as president and general secretary of Ghaziabad Bar Association (GBA) respectively. As many as 2,200 advocates voted in the election process held in the court compound here yesterday. The results were declared by election officer Santosh Kumar in the late night hours. Sharma defeated his nearest rival Anil Pandit by a margin of 165 votes. 1085 votes were polled in favour of Sharma, whereas, Pandit could manage 920 votes only. Giri Raj Singh defeated Arun Tyagi by a margin of 81 votes to secure the post of GBA general secretary. J K Tomar was elected as senior vice president, whereas Sanjay Siddarth won the election for the post of junior vice president GBA. Kiran Pal and Snehlata Chaudhary were elected for the posts of cashier and joint secretary respectively. PTI CORR KAS
