BJP treads cautiously on US praise for Modi
PTI | 08:09 PM,Sep 14,2011"All those against Narendra Modi should study and read the US Report and come to terms with the reality," Rudy said. "The BJP feels that Congress spokespersons are out of tune with reality and this report should be accepted by them in totality now. Congress spokespersons are finding it very uneasy to accept this. The fact remains that after the third electoral defeat in Gujarat, the Congress remains hapless and frustrated," he said. Rudy added that the best part of the CRS report was that it had accepted that Gujarat has recorded a growth of 11 per cent and the state was the most attractive place for industrial investment in the world. The US has also admitted that Gujarat was growing and industrial investment was maximum in the state, he said. The BJP leader said it was the same US Government which had declined to grant visa to Narendra Modi in 2005 and a Congressional report of the same country was now showering praises on Modi. On the possibility of Modi being projected by the party as a prime ministerial candidate, Rudy evaded a direct reply saying, "In BJP, even a small worker of the party can aspire to be the Prime Minister." "People in the country are admitting that the BJP is coming to power if polls are held in 2014. There are many leaders in the BJP who are able candidates for prime ministership. We will let you know who will be the PM from BJP when the time comes," he said. The BJP leader also pointed out that the Supreme Court verdict on Modi issued day before yesterday was a moral victory for him as well as the BJP.
