BMS to launch nationwide agitation from Aug 15

Jaipur, July 29 (PTI) Blaming the UPA government for price rise, unemployment and privatisation, Bhartiya Majdoor Sangh (BMS) today announced the launch of a nationwide agitation from August 15 demanding roll back of hike in fuel prices and creation of labour oriented jobs.In first phase there would be demonstrations at all industrial centres in the country from August 15 to 29, BMS General Secretary K Lakshma Reddy told a press conference.A massive rally against privatisation, price rise and other issues will be held in Delhi in early November, he said.The UPA government was not only violating labour laws but promoting privatisation and inviting MNCs to capture the country's resources in all sectors including agriculture, industry and corporate, he alleged.In case of government employees, the Sixth Pay Commission benefit of gratuity was given with retrospective from January 1, 2006, while industrial sector labourers would get this benefit from May 24, 2010, he said, adding it was a partisan attitude.Labourers of these industrial units should also get gratuity of 45 days as given to government employees, he added.
