

Drugs worth Rs 5 cr smuggled from Pakistan seized
PTI | 10:01 PM,Jan 10,2012Amritsar, Jan 10 (PTI) The Special Operation Cell of Punjab Police today seized one kg heroin worth Rs 5 crore in the international black market and arrested two persons, an official said. Harjinder Singh and Heera Singh, residents of border village Bikhiwind in Tarn Taran, a neighboring district of Amritsar, were arrested on a tipoff when they were allegedly going to deliver the consignment being smuggled into India from Pakistan. The seized drugs were part of a bigger consignment which was smuggled a few days back from Pakistan by notorious smugglers, the official claimed.
