Exclusive police stations for cyber crime soon
PTI | 09:07 PM,Jul 26,2011Ranchi, July 26 (PTI) Plans are afoot to set up exclusive police stations which would deal with cyber crime in Jharkhand, DGP G S Rath said today. �We are planning to set up police stations which will look after cyber crime only. Now a cyber crime cell is functioning with the CID, which works in coordination with the special branch and the district police,� Rath told a press conference here. He said officers were being sent outside the state for training on anti-cyber crime expertise. To bring probity in work within the police establishment, he added, an inter-vigilant mechanism would be set up, which would track any one indulging in any illegal work, he said. Appealing to the people to assist the police in curbing smuggling of coal, other minerals and narcotics, the DGP said the police were taking measures to prevent all types of smuggling with special cells being set up.
