

Forest officer gets 2 years RI for cheating during UPSC exams
PTI | 12:11 AM,Nov 04,2011Indore, Nov 3 (PTI) An Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer was today sentenced to two years rigorous imprisonment by a CBI court for using "pre-written answer-sheets" in the UPSC civil service main exam. Special CBI Magistrate Shubhra Singh also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on M Balrishna Reddy, who hails from Anantpur district in Andhra Pradesh. CBI sources said that Reddy had been caught at the UPSC exam in Bhopal centre with four pre-written answer-sheets in his possession in November 1996. Before this incident, he had already been selected for forest service. He is currently deployed as a forest conservator in a north-eastern state.
