

Free treatment for hemophilia patients
PTI | 03:11 PM,Nov 08,2011Thrissur, Nov 8 (PTI) Hemophilia Society has urged the authorities to make facilities for free treatment of Hemophilia patients in the State and provide medicines for all the District hospitals and Government medical college hospitals in the country for free distribution to the patients. Hemophilia Co-ordination Committee (Kerala) Chairman Prof N N Gokuldas told newsmen here today that a leadership-cum-study camp would be held here for three days from Nov 11, under the auspices of the Hemophilia Federation of India. Fifty hemophilia-youths from the Southern States of the country would be participating in the event, he added. Medicines like Anti-Hemophlia Factor (AHF) VIII,IX, Fieba and Novoseven were being imported. Ordinary patients could not buy them as they were very costly, he added. Hemophilia patients were being treated free of cost in various states, including Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Rajasthan, Utharakhand and Maharashtra. pti cor ud
