Anthony Pereira took the charge of right flank, while Renedy Singh and N P Pradeep in the midfield with Clifford Miranda on the left flank. India began the match on the cautious note with midfield combining well with the strikers but failed to produce any goal as the first half score line read 0-0. After the breather, N S Manju was brought in for Anthony Pereira. Rahim Nabi was pushed on right flank, with Manju playing as the left wing back. After dictating the terms in the first half, Bob Houghton boy's were given a tough time by their opponents but even their spirited performance was not enough to break the deadlock as the match ended on neutral terms.
