

HC notice to Guj Health minister over PIL on civil hospital
PTI | 10:09 PM,Sep 27,2011The PIL that was filed on Friday last by city-based Gandhian and activists Prakash Shah and Ila Pathak. They have claimed that due to the unhygienic and pathetic conditions at the city civil hospital, one of the doctors working there, had died. In the PIL, the petitioners have annexed photographs of civil hospital published in local newspapers to corroborate their claim that condition of civil hospital was inhuman, and because of which, the doctors there have gone on a strike last week and was later called back after assurance from the health minister. The petitioners sought that all those responsible for the gross misconduct, need to be penalised for the negligence. The court was of the opinion that despite clear directions to the city civic authorities, for clean and hygienic environment in civil hospital by the High Court in 2006 order, the authorities have not adhered to it.
