Education Minister P M L Kalyanasundaram told T Thiagarajan (AINRC) that the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor stadium at Uppalam would be refurbished at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore. He said works had been assigned to a contractor and assured the member and others that work would be completed by this year end. Intervening, the Chief Minister said the government had also felt that one more stadium should be constructed as the only indoor stadium in Uppalam was not sufficient.
