

Jail inmate jumps off from running train, dies
PTI | 05:01 PM,Jan 19,2012Kota, Jan 19 (PTI) A jail inmate, being brought here after a court appearance from Delhi, jumped to his death from a running train near Indergarh railway station of Bundi district, police said. The inmate died on the spot and his body was found near Aamli village in Indergarh area today, Deputy SP, GRP police, Trapti Vijayavergi said. Javed alias Naiem, 30, was being brought to Kota jail yesterday after a court appearance in Delhi via the Chandigarh-Kochi Express, the Dy SP said. Seeing the officials in charge sleeping, Javed, against whom cases were registered in police stations across the country, jumped off the train near Indergarh railway station, Vijayavergi said. The police officials, including a constable and three guards, pulled the chain and searched for the inmate, following which his dead body was found today morning, Vijayavergi said. The deceased was undergoing a jail term in Kota central jail for stealing Rs 18 lakh, and several cases were reported to be against him in various police stations of the country, she said. Following judicial inquiry, action would be taken against the guards and constable, she said.
