

J&K Govt to promote local writers: Minister
PTI | 06:12 PM,Dec 22,2011Jammu, Dec 22 (PTI) With Kashmiri poetess Naseem Shafaie set to receive this year's prestigious Sahitya Akademi award, the J-K government today said it will provide all possible support for the publication of literary works of the local writers. "The state government will make available adequate funds to promote and preserve art, culture and languages of the state. We will also help in upgrading the existing infrastructure for cultural activities," Minister for Tourism and Culture Nawang Rigzin Jora said. The Minister released publications of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) at a function here. The JKAACL authorities will take due care that no individual or group working for the preservation and promotion of art, culture and languages was ignored when it comes to moral and financial support, the minister said.
