

Nalco Smelter bags National Energy Conservation Award
PTI | 06:12 PM,Dec 16,2011Bhubaneswar, Mar 20 (PTI) National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has set a target of a sales turn over of Rs 7073 crore during the 2012-13 fiscal, which is Rs 500 crore more than that of the ongoing financial year. An MoU was signed between Nalco and Ministry of Mines yesterday, regarding physical and financial targets for the 2012-13 fiscal. As regards physical performance, NALCO has projected annual production target of 63 lakh tonnes for Bauxite and 21 lakh tonnes of Alumina Hydrate from its Mines & Refinery Complex at Damanjodi, the company sources said. Aluminium production from the companys smelter has also been projected at 4.50 lakh tonnes and power generation at 6842 million units from its captive power plant at Angul, they said. The MoU underscores special weightage towards corporate social responsibility (CSR), sustainable development, R&D and Corporate Governance. In addition, NALCO has set targets to establish and commission Nuclear Power Project in JV with Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (NPCIL), second Wind Power Project of 50 MW capacity and a 15 MW Solar Power Project. PTI AAM AMD
