

NBW issued to Bharati Urs in Chitralekha murder case
PTI | 05:09 PM,Sep 03,2010Bangalore, Sep 3 (PTI) The Karnataka High Court today directed issue of non-bailable warrant to Bharati Urs,daughter of former Chief Minister late Devaraj Urs, in the sensational murder of lawyer Chitralekha Urs. A division bench comprising Justice Shridhar Rao and B V Pinto passed the order on an appeal filed by the diseased's mother challenging the acquittal of Bharati Urs and two other accused. The case was posted for hearing on September nine. On August three the court had ordered issue of notices to the state government, prime accused Bharati Urs and two others in the murder case. On May 27, a fast-track sessions court acquitted Bharati Urs and two others accused of abducting Chitralekha, daughter of former Karnataka High Court judge M P Chandrakantaraje Urs, from a palmgrove nursery on January 19, 2004 and murdering her by strangulation. Chitralekha's decomposed body was found in Shiradi ghat on March nine, 2004.
