Over Rs 80 lakh unaccounted money recovered in UP
PTI | 10:01 PM,Jan 28,2012Lucknow, Jan 28 (PTI) Unaccounted cash totalling over Rs 80 lakh was recovered during a drive to check flow of illegal money in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh today. Rs 45 lakh were recovered from a jeep in Basti district, a police spokesman said. Similarly, Rs 17 lakh were recovered in Kushinagar, Rs 5 lakh in Mau, Rs 6 lakh in Chandauli, Rs 5.4 lakh in Allahabad and Rs 4.5 lakh in Sant Ravidas Nagar, he said. The Income Tax department was looking into the matter, the spokesman said.
