PTI | 01:02 AM,Feb 05,2012Jammu, Feb 5 (PTI) Implementation of Panchyati Raj Act in Jammu and Kashmir has ensured development of rural and far-off areas and decentralisation of power at grassroots level, a state minister today said. "Panchyati Raj Act is being implemented in letter and spirit. This has ensured decentralisation of powers at grassroots level and development of rural and far-off areas," Minister for Medical Education R S Chib said at a function at Mahessian in Darsopur. The Minister said the government is committed to empowering panchayats and powers of 14 departments have been devolved to them.
