PTI | 11:01 PM,Jan 05,2012New Delhi, Jan 5 (PTI) A physically-challenged artist, who exhibited paintings on homosexuality, was today allegedly attacked by an unidenitifed person inside the Lalit Kala Akademi premises in the national capital. Balbir Krishan, the artist who has artificial limbs, was injured in the attack by the man today on the last day of his exhibition which began on December 30. "I was outside the hall talking to people and suddenly realised that there was someone behind me. Before I could turn back that person hit me on my head," he said. The artist, who exhibited his works on homosexuality, claimed that the attacker also damaged one of his precious works. "One of my paintings was damaged. I have no words to describe the incident," he said. A senior police official said the youth got into an argument with Krishan and attacked him later. A case is yet to be registered, he said. Krishna said he has been receiving threatening letters and calls ever since his exhibition was launched and had informed the Akadami authorities about them. "I have been getting calls saying I was doing a wrong thing by exhibiting paintings on homosexuality. One of the callers recalled how M F Husain was forced to leave the country after some of his controversial paintings," Krishan claimed.
