

PM asks Mizoram CM to accompany him in his Bangladesh trip
PTI | 06:08 PM,Aug 22,2011Aizawl, Aug 22 (PTI) Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has asked Mizoram chief minister Lal Thanhawla to accompany him in his coming trip to Bangladesh, an official statement said here today. The statement said that Singh would visit the neighbouring country which shares 318-km-long international border with Mizoram on September seven and eight for which he extended formal invitation to Lal Thanhawla. In his letter to the chief minister, Singh said that Bangladesh is an important neighbour with which India wants to have long-lasting relationship. "Your presence in the trip would show India's sincerity to have cooperation in different sectors to the government and the people of Bangladesh," Singh said, adding that he has already informed the Ministry of External Affairs about his invitation so that all the programmes would be intimated to Lal Thanhawla.
