

Polythene ban to be banned in Bihar: Modi
PTI | 05:04 PM,Apr 19,2011Patna, Apr 19 (PTI) Deputy Chief Minister S K Modi today said the state government would soon ban polythene bags in Bihar on the pattern of Delhi, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. "We will soon ban polythene bags in Bihar on the pattern of Delhi, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh," Modi told reporters. He said the Centre had decided to effect a ban on sell and use of polythene bags with thickness of less than 40 microns and the state government would have to enforce a similar order to reduce adverse effects on environment by polythene bags. "The state government has the right to implement the ban on the pattern on other states+, he said.
