Preparations in full swing for India-Australia ODI
PTI | 10:09 PM,Sep 09,2010Kochi, Sep 9 (PTI) Preparations are in full swing at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, which has been renovated at an estimated cost of Rs 30 crore, for the India-Australia ODI to be held here on October 17. Speaking to reporters here, Kerala Cricket Association Secretary T C Mathew said a five-member Australian delegation had visited the city on September 5 and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements for the match. "The Australians are familiar with the stadium as two ODIs were held here earlier. The delegation has made some suggestions," he said. Both teams are expected to arrive here by October 14, he said. Sales of tickets are expected to begin by October 7 and Federal Bank will be the banking partner. The gallery, with a capacity to accommodate 15,000 spectators would be on the uppermost tier of the stadium. The second tier would have a capacity of 20,000 and the last tier another 20,000, he said. Tickets would be priced at between Rs 300 to Rs 1,000. The premium seats would be priced at Rs 3000, he said adding that students, women and club members can avail of Rs 300 tickets. There would be no complimentary passes this time, he said. In the 2007 ODI, KCA's revenue was Rs 1.5 crore and this time it is expected to touch Rs 3.4 crore, Mathew said.
