Railways rule in penultimate day of Federation Cup gymnastics
PTI | 11:08 PM,Aug 25,2010New Delhi, Aug 25 (PTI) Indian Railways ruled the roost with three medals including, two gold and one silver on the penultimate day of the Federation Cup gymnastics here today. The railways team comprising M Sridevi, Rakhi Debnath, Rupali Haldhar, Tumpa Debnath and Sukhbir Kaur grabbed the top honours in the team event of the women artistic gymnastic with 121.8 points. The silver in this event went to Punjab (Gulwinder Kaur, Naginder Kaur, Monika, Sarbjeet and Rohika) with 114.2 points while Maharashtra (Vandita Rawat, Gayatri, Dilip Sohani, Tejaswini, Akshada Wavekar and Ashwani Khurade) pocketed the bronze with 96.0 points. Indian Railways' Tumpa Debnath also won the gold in the all-round individual championship with 41.95 points. Tumpa's teammate Rupali Haldhar (40.45 points) won the silver while Vandeeta Raval of Maharashtra secured the bronze (40.10).
