

Reliance Cap fund buys pref shares in retailer Trent
Reuters | 09:06 PM,Sep 03,2010MUMBAI (Reuters) - Indian retailer Trent, controlled by the diversified Tata Group, said on Friday that Reliance Capital Trustee, part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group, had acquired 8.68 percent of an allotment of convertible preferred shares in the firm. Reliance Capital Trustee owned 7.6 percent of Trent as of June 30. The Reliance Capital unit acquired the preference shares on Aug. 31 for 212.6 million rupees ($4.6 million), Trent said in a statement to the stock exchange.
