

Second H1N1 death in a month in UP
PTI | 01:07 PM,Jul 27,2010Lucknow, Jul 27 (PTI) With the death of a 40-year-old man, the toll due to swine flu in Uttar Pradesh has risen to two this month, officials said here today.Jatan Prasad, hailing from Badaun, who was admitted at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) last week, died on Sunday.Though it was initially believed that he died of kidney failure, a test report received after his death confirmed that his death was due to H1N1 infection, they said.On July 19, 25-year-old Jyoti Singh died of swine flu at the Chattrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University here.Even since the outbreak of H1N1 virus in March 2009, UP has reported 1,313 lab-confirmed cases of the deadly flu, of which 21 people have died.
