

Tea plantation workers to hold relay hunger strike
PTI | 08:01 PM,Jan 21,2012Darjeeling(WB), Jan 21 (PTI) Tea Plantation workers associated with the recently closed Panighata Tea estate today decided to hold a relay hunger strike in front of the tea factory. Tea plantation workers under the leadership of Darjeeling Terai and Dooars Plantation Labour Union (DTDPLU) affiliated to the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha decided on the hunger strike after the second tripartite meet convened by the Labour department was deferred today, DTDPLU sources said. The workers also demanded the intervention of Darjeeling District Magistrate in reopening of the tea estate. PTI COR
