Three arrested for abducting, murdering youth for ransom
PTI | 09:02 PM,Feb 11,2012Barabanki (UP), Feb 11 (PTI) Three persons were today arrested for allegedly murdering a youth after abducting him for extorting Rs 10 lakh in ransom, police said here. Pankaj, Deepak and Sachin were arrested for kidnapping and killing Dinesh (32), police said. The body of the victim, who was kidnapped four days ago, was recovered from Amarpalpur village, they said. The trio confessed to their involvement in the kidnapping and said that they wanted a ransom of Rs 10 lakh. After the victim's body was found, agitated villagers set a school in Bivipur village managed by one of the accused on fire, they said. Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control by assuring the villagers that prompt action would be taken against the accused.
