

Three more swine flu deaths in MP, toll reaches 40
PTI | 10:09 PM,Sep 07,2010Bhopal, Sep 7 (PTI) With the confirmation that three more persons have succumbed to H1N1 virus, the death toll due to swine flu has climbed to 40 in Madhya Pradesh since August, officials said today. Kaushal Tyagi (35) and Alka Tomar (22) died of swine flu on September 4 before their swab sample tested positive for H1N1 virus. Kaushal breathed his last at Paliwal Hospital in Bhopal, and Alka died at M Y Hospital in Indore, they added. One Vinita Patel (25) died while undergoing treatment at Narmada Hospital in Bhopal on September 5, they said. With two more persons succumbing to H1N1 virus in Bhopal, 16 people have died of swine flu in the state capital in August while in Indore, 15 persons died due to H1N1 virus, officials said. Remaining deaths were reported from other cities. Of the 101 patients undergoing treatment for swine flu in different hospitals across the state, 19 were admitted today.Sixteen patients today tested positive for the H1N1 virus in Madhya Pradesh, they said. Of the total patients undergoing treatment, condition of 32 is stated to be critical, officials said.
