UTV World Movies revamps website
PTI | 07:07 PM,Jul 29,2010Mumbai, Jul 29 (PTI) UTV World Movies has revamped its website to make the movie channel more interactive and highlight to the audiences that world cinema is accessible despite barriers of language and region. Vahishta Mistry, Vice President (interactive broadband) UTV World Movies told PTI that world cinema has plot and structure like Indian movies. "Once the language barrier is crossed, it is easy to enjoy the world cinema," he said. "Movie-o-dex" is a feature useful for viewers with basic knowledge of world cinema. "If the viewer wants to watch a French film, the feature allows him to chose between a modern movie or a classic one. The film will be recovered from our library and when it is being telecast, the viewer will get an SMS about the screening time," he said. The Cine Map feature will help the viewer to choose the films from the database. The feature is a visual representation complete with maps. "There will be markers on the map about the films and which country are they from. The list can be filtered to the choice of the viewer," he said. Mistry said the newly invented website, utvworldmovies.com, enhances the interactiveness of the channel to get world cinema and flavour of the world cinema culture to India. He said the new features have been added to understand its viewers and their needs better. The channel plans to introduce a new feature every two months. The channel has a library of 450 film titles which have received critical and Box Office acclaim across the world. There are also award winning movies.
