Wayanad declared agri crisis area

Thiruvananthapuram,Dec 30 (PTI) Kerala Government today declared Wayanad district in north Kerala as farm sector crisis affected area in view of sharp fall in a variety of crops. This was decided by a special cabinet which met this evening. The decision was taken in view of drastic fall in prices of crops like pepper, ginger, plantain and vegetables, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told reporters. The farmers in the district were expected to get assistance and relief.
