Woman killed in group clash
PTI | 08:08 PM,Aug 26,2010Sitapur (UP), May 16 (PTI) Residents of Pisavan area near here today alleged that a woman from the village died of starvation after she was given inadequate ration, but officials rejected the charge, saying the cause of her death was prolonged illness.Ramguni (56) died out of hunger yesterday after she was not given her quota of ration by the shop owner here, they said.Refuting allegations of villagers, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dhananjay Shukla said that "ration was given to the lady, who died due to illness and not due to hunger." Ramguni's husband is currently in jail on murder charges and she has been keeping unwell for quite some time and illness led to her death, he said.
