Medical students in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh were expected to take to the streets in protest today, amid mounting outrage at the way state officials have replaced a national qualification with its local predecessor.

The protest is the latest in a series of confrontations between the students and authorities, which have led to scuffles and allegations of police brutality when Officers, apparently acting on orders from the state Government, attempted to break up otherwise peaceful protests. At the most recent incident, which took place in the state capital of Lucknow on the 25rd March 2013, District Magistrate, Anurag Yadav, is reported to have told demonstrators that, "It's an order from State Govt. to conduct [the new examination] at any cost, and we will break your agitation by hook or by crook as and when we want to."Read more...


Plight of being a doctor in India

We the medicos of Madhya Pradesh have started the fight against the corrupt system and have succeeded in getting our pre PG cancelled.

In the light of recent evidence the biggest question is that we all are facing is "Do we have to be criminals or do we have to posses an AK-56 to get our plight heard on a fast track in the apex court?

With so much delay in the NEET PG results we feel virtually raped; if that can get us some attention from the authorities."

We as doctors do not want to be academicians who will sit and wait for some competitive exam results. Our place as skilled individuals...Read more...


Is the NEET PG demoralising aspiring doctors?

NEETPG - the word is enough to demoralise any doctor trying for higher studies in India. The exams were held in December, it has been over four months and god knows as to how much more time till the admissions process will start. To add to it, the Supreme court is taking case so infrequently it might be July before we might see our results. Ordinarily, by this time admission process is close to coming to an end. Students who don't score well will suffer as they by then, have now wasted valuable time of second year preparation plus next year pattern is still uncertain.

This uncertainty has virtually broken the spine of the doctors. It is a 'Life of WHY' for each one of us. Each day we are constantly refreshing SC pages to check if hearing starts or not only to...Read more...

there is an ongoing campaign for the NEETPG entrance exam; here are a few facts and background about the #SaveNEETPG twitter campaign.

90 thousand doctors are caught in a limbo of uncertainty due to the corrupt practices in the healthcare system and PG medical course admissions.

NEETPG - National Eligibility cum Entrance test for admission into PG medical courses in India was conducted in November 2012 by MCI as per directions of Honorable SC of India.

But right since the inception of NEETPG, every single thing about it has been uncertain and 90k young MBBS doctors are mentally harrased due to the same since 7 months.

The money minded, corrupt pvt colleges and deemed universities and some states have filed petitions in SC against the NEETPG.
