'Withdraw textbooks that exclude Arunachal Pradesh from map'

The Maharashtra government on Thursday ordered withdrawal of Class X geography text books that excludes Arunachal Pradesh from the map of India. Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan termed as "unpardonable mistake" the exclusion of Arunachal Pradesh from the map of India published in the text books and disbanded the committee of experts which had approved of the textbook.

Arunachal Pradesh Education Minister Bosiram Siram said that the state would soon attain total literacy and the state government has made all-out efforts to improve the education standard of the state. IPS officer MS Chauhan, who probed the high-profile PDS scam and mysteriously went missing in Arunachal Pradesh's West Kameng district on October 16, has been traced in New Delhi on Sunday. "Chauhan was traced in New Delhi this morning and the Investigating officer will rush there to investigate," IGP (Crime) Arvind Deep said. He declined to give further details.

The Arunachal Pradesh government on Friday handed over the case of missing IPS officer MS Chauhan to a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the state police, official sources said. Chauhan, who is the SP of the Special Investigation Cell of the state police, went missing mysteriously from Tippi on Tuesday when he was going to Tawang from Itanagar with inspector Mohan Kaye and constable Vikram Singh.

An IPS officer has gone missing from Tippi in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh when he was on his way to Tawang from Itanagar. Superintendent of Police of the Special Investigation Cell in the state police, MS Chauhan, went missing from Tippi on Tuesday at around 2.30 pm when he, along with two of his subordinate staff, was going to Tawang.
