London: Consensual sex can cause as many vaginal injuries in women as rape, according to a new study. Researchers at the University of Southern Denmark have carried out the study and found that vaginal injuries are as common among women who have had voluntary sex as among rape victims, Forensic Science International journal reported.

The study, in which the researchers compared rape victims with nursing students to come to their conclusion, casts doubt on commonly held view that vaginal injuries are evidence that intercourse has been forced.

New Delhi: A new study by the Centre for Science and Environment has found that at least 16 major food brands may label themselves as 'healthy' but are in fact not so. Most junk foods contain very high levels of trans fats, salts and sugar, leading to obesity and diabetes. This is something people well know. But what does one do when food companies label their food as healthy which are not in fact so? The Centre for Science and Environment found that misbranding and wrong labelling by junk food companies were misleading the consumers.

For instance, a child who eats one McDonald's Happy Meal finishes 90 per cent of all his daily requirement of trans fats. The packet of Happy Meal makes no mention of this massive dosage of trans fats. Top Ramen Super Noodles claims there is zero trans fats in every 100 grams, but the CSE study found 0.7 gram per 100 grams.

There's nothing quite like a midlife face-lift. A nip here, a tuck there and suddenly you're back to being the talk of the town. It's a system that's worked wonders for celebs who refuse to raise the white flag against the merciless onslaught of age. Audi happily subscribe to the same school of thought and put their bestselling A4 under the knife. Sure, the car's lost its 'old' feel and is now pretty up to date, but is that enough?

Take the all new BMW 3 series, it's exactly that - all new. And while Mercedes also gave their C-class a refresh they took it a step further with a new 7-speed auto that significantly improves driveability. So what changes does Audi bring to the table to compete with its two biggest rivals' rather healthy spread?

Mumbai: A landmark study published in The Lancet has found that cancer hits Indians much earlier than Westerners. Cancer claimed 6 lakh Indian lives in 2010 and contrary to popular perception, cancer is no longer a disease of the rich. It killed twice as many as poor and illiterate Indians as their educated, wealthy urban counterparts, according to the new Million Death Study in The Lancet that used research from across 16 centres.

The study is significant because till now all the cancer data available was derived from Cancer Registries and 90 per cent of them are based in big cities. But for the first time, 800 professionals were sent door-to-door across 1 million homes in both the neglected rural areas as well as urban cities. A major finding was that 70 per cent of cancer deaths were in the age group of 30 to 69 years.
